Medical Oxygen

 

 

For medical oxygen generators via pressure swing adsorption and vacuum pressure swing adsorption process, the molecular sieve can provide the strongest nitrogen adsorption capacity among the oxygen, nitrogen and argon in the air. The separation process is a dynamic balance: the molecular sieve adsorbs more nitrogen than oxygen or argon, and the adsorption capacity increases with the partial pressure goes up, once the partial pressure drops, the adsorbed component desorbs. Once the equilibrium is reached, then we can determine the corresponding adsorption capacity related to the various partial pressures, thus we can obtain the so-called adsorption isotherm for oxygen and nitrogen. The adsorption and desorption character of the molecular sieve is the theoretical basis of the oxygen and nitrogen separation in the air by PSA or VPSA process.
